About bybebé

It all started in 1995, as part of a family business, selling maternity wear and baby clothing, which quickly grew to become one of the first shops to represent the Bebé Confort brand. Years later, as the business adapted to the needs of the market, they also began to sell toys, furniture, articles for home and car safety, pushchairs and more.

In addition to the physical shop, the need arose to also have an online shop and it was in 2013 that they had the brand’s first website, bybebe.pt.

Bybebé is a brand that today accompanies and advises hundreds of mums and dads during the process of buying all the items they need to best welcome their baby, and which sells its items from the north to the south of Portugal. But it doesn’t stop there: today, bybebé products can be easily purchased from anywhere in the world!

It’s a brand that continues to grow year on year and has great potential to continue scaling the business.

The Challenge

The rapid growth of the business, the ambition to scale into other markets and the brand’s long-term vision led to the need for a more robust website, while also improving its performance.

On the other hand, the volume of SKUs and orders generated each month, as well as the sale of bybebé products in various marketplaces, required the centralisation of business information, allowing the management of orders, invoices, stock, shipments, products and customers through the same platform.

Another of the project’s requirements was the existence of a feed builder to ensure integration with marketplaces, payment gateways, ERP and other platforms.

As for indexing the pages and optimising them for search engines, bybebé had some concerns with its previous website, which it wanted to address as soon as possible. As such, they were looking for a technology and supplier that would allow them to quickly scale the business and have a team available and involved in the project.

bybebé was looking for a long-term partner who would contribute strongly to the continued growth of the Online Shop, sharing valid input on a regular basis, with a view to increasing conversion through the various components of the website.

Solution

Given the size of the project, the technical requirements and the number of existing SKUs, both teams, PIPECODES and bybebé, carried out several grooming sessions together (studying concepts, analysing tools and functionalities, technical and design considerations) in order to find the most suitable solution for the business in the shortest possible time.

At the end of this process, four phases of action followed, according to bybebé’s priorities:

#1 Structure: Implementation of the basic structure of the new Online Shop, through the ecommerce platform, multistore, multilanguage, content pages, listing pages, product pages, legal aspects, products (simple, with attributes, product documents and related products), one-step checkout, price tracker and period / duration of promotions / sales, and various integrations were carried out (ERP – Odoo – , payment methods – fractional and total -, shipping, intelligent search, reviews, chat support, marketplaces). Finally, the products and their content were imported, guaranteeing their performance and security;

#2 Additional features: product bundles, promotions and special offers, optimised sorting, product labels, and content generator using Artificial Intelligence.

#3 Add-ons: Google Automated Discounts Programme, Santander Boutique, customer support, AI Shopping experience, PIM;

#4 Post-launch support for the online shop: dedicated monitoring by a team specialising in CRO (Conversion rate optimisation) and continuous improvements;

In this way, a new, more robust online shop was launched, with the capacity to quickly scale the business and capture the target audience.

Solution

A project conceived and developed completely in-house, from M.V.P, through technological implementation, to marketing and sales. 

The platform had to meet the needs of the industry, reflecting the terminologies, flows, and working methodologies of each law firm, from the freelance attorney to the firm that operates worldwide. As it is an industry that deals with such sensitive topics, some of the project requirements were clear, cybersecurity, data encryption and secure document sharing via the cloud.
